Their Origin [STORY]

Yeah, so here's the origin story of why Snow (the demon that's chasing after Wolfstar) is after Wolfstar in the first place! Snow and Wolfstar were humans in their first lives, and now, since Marie was reincarnated into Wolfstar after years of being a spirit, Clarissa, a.k.a. Snow decided to take revenge.
That revenge isn't featured here in this story, but only why Clarissa turned demon.
Characters:
Marie (Wolfstar)
Clarissa (Snow)

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

The sound of water seeping through the poor roofing filled the silent air, sending chills up her spine as she clutched the rifle with her sweaty hands, light blue eyes wide with fear as they darted from side to side. She searched desperately for something that wasn't there, and due to being so anxious, she can't help but believe someone was inside.

Another icy breeze struck through the broken window, causing the young woman to shiver violently, tightly grasping the thin, soaking wet sweater. Not only was her sweater soaked through with rainwater, but her shoes, as well as her gray pants were as well. If she could, she'd take them off and dress into much dryer, warmer clothes, but right now, Clarissa was far from home.

A small cloud billowed in front of her, and she noticed it was her breath. Her chest was heaving with effort as to not hyperventilate and begin panicking, but she couldn't help but whimper softly. She was scared to the bone, and she couldn't leave until someone saved her.

God.. I wish I listened to mom! I wouldn't be here if I haven't went to that damn party!  Clarissa grit her teeth together, then hugged the weapon closer to her trembling form, white locks of hair falling to her shoulders as the wind coming from outside gently blew into it. It was true, she had been to a party, accidentally got drunk, then passed out near a dumpster. How she got there, the girl had no clue, but right now she was only intent on staying safe. For the past hour and a half, Clarissa had been walked from the city in an attempt to find her way home, as she knew it was too late to stay over at a friends’. It was almost 1:00 in the morning, and she didn't want to wake anyone up yet. Plus, she didn't have her phone with her.

That was a mistake, however. During her little walk, Clarissa had noticed a shadow flickering along the walls of the buildings she passed by, and whenever she spun around to see who was following her, the sidewalks on both sides of the streets were empty. It could have been just her imagination, but she had a stinging belief that it wasn't her eyes only messing with her.

Her shoulders tensed, and quickly she risked glancing around the corner of the wall to see if it was safe to continue moving through the house. She was lucky she managed to discover this broken down building on the outskirts of town, otherwise she'd still be walking aimlessly out in that storm.

Looks like no one's there. The white-haired girl mumbled to herself, her legs carefully, and quietly bringing her towards what appeared to be a kitchen. There was a table, some counters, but the refrigerator and stove were gone. They were probably once placed in those empty spots in between the counters, but what now had its home there were spiders. The webs, so delicately spun and crafted, glittered in the light from the window after a lightning bolt danced across the sky.

I'm going to have to spend the night here. Damn it! Maneuvering her way through the room, Clarissa stumbled upon a wooden chair, so she took a seat and brought her knees up to her chest, rocking herself worriedly back and forth. Her blue hues darted to the floor for a second, and she soon noticed the detail of the rotting floorboards, covered in debris and dirt. Oh god... The floor is filthy..

Taking a shaky breath, she set the rifle on the table nearby, then tried to get into a comfortable position in the chair so she could at least sleep away the night. Her heart pounded tremendously beneath her ribcage, telling her to stay awake, but she was exhausted, from both walking nearly across the entire town of Fremont and from her fear.

I'll be okay... I'll be okay... Just going to sleep, for a few hours. Clarissa told herself, setting her head back into the cushion of the chair, coughing when dust blew out of the cracks in the fabric. I'll be okay.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Instantly at the sound of someone outside Clarissa shot up in her seat, which in turn threw the chair over behind her, as well as create a loud crash. Even with her efforts to stay quiet, whoever was on the other side of that door now knew someone was inside the house.

No! No, no, no! Please... No. She cried internally, silent tears already beginning to run down her slightly tanned cheeks. Please let it just be some homeless guy... I can't fight for myself!

In her hysterical state, Clarissa grasped her head and shook it in denial, too afraid to move deeper into the house and try to hide. She was frozen, pierced with horror at the thought that this would be the day where she'd be kidnapped.

After around a minute of sobbing to herself, the woman shakily turned and made her way to the door to see who it was, but before that, she glanced over her shoulder at the rifle, thinking. If it was someone dangerous outside that door, she could protect herself.

Quickly, she grabbed the gun, then went back to the front of the house, steps quiet and inaudible. Once she reached the door, Clarissa peeked out through the peephole, then took a good look at the woman outside in the rain. In the light of yet more lightning striking in the sky, she made out the details of black hair, and pale skin. The woman had a friendly smile on her face, but she clearly was freezing.

Oh thank god... She thought, then grabbed and twisted the door knob without hesitation, allowing the other woman to step inside the home.

Offering Clarissa a thankful grin, the ravenette thrusted out her hand for her companion to shake it. Clarissa did, nodding to her. It was the least she could do for someone who was just seeking shelter from the rain.

"Thank you." The female quietly spoke, voice deeper than a female's should be, but feminine enough to detect that she was indeed a woman. "I'm sorry for intruding... It's just very difficult to move around outside when I can barely make out what's in front of me. That storm is really raging, huh?"

She nodded once more, hand still tightly gripping the rifle to her abdomen. The newcomer noticed this, and she chuckled lightly, resting her hand on the weapon's smooth, metallic surface. Her fingertips glided over it, touching every dent and scratch.

"No need to be scared, kid. I'm only a stay-at-home mom trying to get back home from some later night shopping." The woman reassured her, patting Clarissa's shoulder in a kind manner, which got her shoulders to loosen up from being so tense.

"By the way, my name's Marie if you need anything." Marie said, then vanished down a hallway off to the right, leaving her dripping wet coat on the nail that stuck out from the wall.

Clarissa watched her go, then a breath she didn't know she was holding escaped her in a long, heavy sigh of relief. What were the odds that she'd only meet a mother desperately trying to get home to her children?

I guess I can get back to sleep now. She told herself, the returned back to the kitchen to sit back in that same chair, disregarding the clouds of dust this time.

Again, around an hour later, Clarissa was woken up from a noise, this time it being something piercing, and wet. To her horror though, that sound of cutting came from right behind her. Turning in her seat, even if the movements made her body scream for her to stop, Clarissa came face to face with the woman she invited into the home, though her face was drawn into a menacing smile. Marie's blue eyes were contracted into tiny dots, and the bags under her eyes now seemed more eminent.

Looking down, she saw the shining of metal in her peripheral, and the smell of copper only just tainted her senses, causing her to reel back into the sighting disgust. That gave the ravenette the chance to wrap her strong arm around the woman's chest, keeping her from moving away and escaping.

"Good morning." Marie whispered into the injured girl's ear, breath tickling the skin as her short hair draped over her darkened eyes. "I thought you were going to actually sleep through this, but I guess not. It only makes the experience more enjoyable, doesn't it?"

Moving her hand in a twisted motion, the adult clenched the knife in her hand and dug it deeper into Clarissa's back, and blood poured out onto her hand and the blade. She took a sharp intake of breath, absolutely loving the screams of her victim as she felt something tearing through her flesh and organs.

Lifting her hand up to her lips, Marie gracefully dragged her tongue over her finger, bringing several droplets of blood into her awaiting mouth. The taste sent shivers of pleasure up her spine, but despite wanting to taste more, she returned her hand back to the knife, pushing it deeper ever so agonizingly slowly.

Clarissa cried out again, trying her best to release herself from the ravenette's hold, but her attempts were futile. Not only that, but with each movement came more excruciating pain, so in the end she fell back into the seat, unable to save herself. On the table not too far away laid the rifle, taunting her.

I should have never let her in. I should have just stayed inside and went back to sleep. The white-haired female angrily scolded her mind, furious and miserable that she was tricked so easily. What kind of mother would be out shopping at this time in the morning anyway? God, she was stupid!

"Angry, now, are we?" Marie spoke up once again, moving around so she could see Clarissa's face. Tears were freely pouring out from her eyes, but those light blue depths were now icy with an emotion Marie knew all too well. The sight only made her laugh though.

"You're quite pretty, but it's too bad this beauty of yours will be long gone.. I was lucky to have found you walking all by yourself out in town" She moved away, then returned to slicing up her victim's insides, face stone cold and emotionless. Her first murder, and she wasn't at all unsure of herself, or her abilities to kill. "I was wondering what you were doing out so late, but why ponder on that when you gave me the chance to unleash this on you?"

Angry, scared, and sad, Clarissa cried once more, desperately wanting someone to help her live. Already her life was draining out as the blood continued to stream out of the hole in her back, but her soul fought on, refusing to die. However, her body couldn't help it fight, so she just laid limp, letting Marie continue her actions without protest. The only thing that came up from her weak attempts to fight back was the blood that gushed through her mouth, staining her sweater red. The sight delighted Marie.

"Why me.." She choked out afterwards, causing more blood to seep down her chin and neck. Marie raised a brow quizzically at the question, but she answered anyway.

"Why not?" The murder responded, ripping the knife free from whatever was holding it still inside her body, the lifted it up to gaze admiringly at the crimson dripping from the tip. "You gave me the chance, so I took it. Be happy that you don't have to live in this world anymore."

"I-" But before Clarissa could finish, Marie whipped the blade through her throat, cutting the veins and her esophagus in the process. Her short hair fluttered in the wind coming from the window, and her teeth grit together in a satisfied grin. The job was done.

Clarissa's head fell towards into her chest, the deep gash marking her neck overflowing with liquid as her body tried to clot up its blood to stop the bleeding. It was too late though, as the cut was too deep to mend. The girl was already dead, that fact was obvious by the lifeless look in her glazed light blue eyes.

Marie stood up and wiped the sweat from her brow, dropping the knife as she released it from her hold. It was dark, and cold, but it didn't matter to her. She wasn't even going to hide the body, since no one would figure out it was her. The gloves she was wearing provided no DNA indication of who the wearer was, so she was home free.

She did dump her clothes in the trash though, of course not at all near her home, but in another town. She cleansed her body of the blood in her shower when she returned back to her own house, and Marie went on with life like that event never took place. Clarissa, on the other hand, wasn't gone like how her murder thought. But instead, the white-haired girl watched Marie's every move, followed her everywhere, and watched her sleep. Till the day the ravenette died, Clarissa wouldn't lift her grudge.

She continued to hunt her spirit down, through the afterlife, and through Marie's reincarnation. And even when she discovered that neither of them were no longer human, Clarissa wouldn't let go.
